Terms
Terms of Service
Last updated October 21, 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Studio Sando LLC for pet portrait sessions booked at www.pawsonfilm.com, and for your use of this website. Studio Sando LLC does business as Paws on Film. In these terms, “we” and “us” mean Studio Sando LLC. Booking a session, paying for one, or scheduling a call means you agree to them. If you book for someone else, you are confirming that you can agree for them.
Please read them with our Privacy Policy. The date at the top is the version in effect.
Who we are
Studio Sando LLC photographs pets on 35mm film under the name Paws on Film, and mails you the scans, prints, and negatives. We work from Irvine, California, and we travel across Southern California. Write to us at hello@pawsonfilm.com.
The session
The session you pay for when you book is The Roll, $300:
- A relaxed 45-minute outdoor session
- One roll of Kodak Portra, 36 frames
- A high-quality digital scan of every frame we can deliver
- A 4×6 print of every one of those frames
- The original negatives, which are yours to keep
- Shipping of the prints, scans, and negatives to an address you give us
Scans, prints, and negatives usually arrive together about 1 to 2 weeks after the session. Developing depends on the lab. If we are running past that window, we will tell you.
The Roll includes a session at one of these spots. We picked them for the space and the light:
- Luna Park (Irvine)
- Jeffrey Open Space Trail (Irvine)
- Laguna Canyon Dog Park (Laguna Canyon)
Irvine and Newport are included. Anywhere else in Southern California is a $100 travel fee. An extra roll is $85: about 30 more minutes and 36 more frames. We recommend one pet per roll. The booking page lets you add up to three extra rolls. If you want a different plan, ask us before the session.
Film is not a digital camera. We cannot check a frame and shoot it again. Some photographs will catch a blink, a yawn, motion, or an odd crop. You are booking that kind of session, and a print of every deliverable frame is part of what you receive. We do not cull the roll or retouch expressions, and we do not promise a particular pose.
Booking and payment
You pick a time through the calendar on this site, which is provided by Cal.com. The Roll, $300, is due when you book. That payment reserves the date.
Add-ons are not charged in that checkout. Put an extra roll or travel in the booking notes, or tell us by email or on a call. We send a separate invoice. Add-ons are due before the session, so we can pack the extra film and plan the drive. If an add-on is still unpaid when we leave, we shoot the paid Roll at an included location.
Prices are in U.S. dollars. A session you have already booked stays at the price you paid, even if we change prices later.
Card details are collected by Cal.com and the payment processor it uses. We do not store your full card number on this website. We keep a record that you paid, the amount, and the booking it belongs to. If a payment does not clear or is reversed, we can hold the date, the film, or the shipment until it is resolved.
A free 10-minute intro call, also scheduled through Cal.com, does not reserve a session and has no charge. Cancel or move a call from the confirmation Cal.com sends you, or email us.
Refunds, weather, and cancellations
If the shoot does not take place, you get a full refund of what you paid toward that session, including any add-on you already paid that we did not use.
Rain or extreme heat: we move the session at no charge. If a new date does not work for you, we refund you in full.
If you need to cancel, or you cannot make the date, email hello@pawsonfilm.com as soon as you can. We will refund the session. The sooner you write, the sooner we can offer that time to someone else.
Once we have shot the film, the session has taken place. The fee pays for our time, the film, developing, scans, prints, and shipping. It is a finished session even when a frame is not one you would hang on a wall.
If you arrive very late, we may shorten the session so we still have light and so the next pet is not kept waiting. A shortened session is a completed session, and we deliver the frames we were able to shoot.
If we stop before shooting because it is not safe to continue, including because a pet is a serious risk to a person or another animal, the shoot has not happened and we refund the session fee. Tell us ahead of time if your pet is reactive, fearful, in season, or recovering, and we will plan around it.
What we need from you
Bring your pet on a leash or otherwise under your control, plus treats and a toy that gets their attention. You are responsible for your pet during the session, including how they behave toward people and other animals, and for the rules of the park or property where we meet. Some public spots expect a current license or vaccines. That is yours to confirm.
Give us a name, email, phone number, and an address where a package can be delivered. If we are meeting somewhere private, such as your yard, you confirm we are allowed to be there and to photograph.
Anyone who comes with you may end up in a frame. You confirm they are willing to be photographed. If a child is in the photographs, a parent or guardian needs to be there and agree.
Film, labs, and shipping
We send the roll to a lab to be developed, scanned, and printed, then we ship the package to you. Film can be lost, fogged, or ruined by a camera fault, a lab fault, or a carrier.
If we cannot deliver your photographs for one of those reasons, we will schedule a new session at no charge or refund the fees you paid for that session. You choose which. That reshoot or refund is the remedy for a lost or unusable roll. We cannot recreate a particular afternoon, and these terms do not require any further payment for disappointment or sentimental value.
If a shipment comes back or goes missing because the address was incomplete or wrong, we will still try to sort it out with you. Postage to send it again can be billed at what the carrier actually charges.
Your photographs
The prints and the negatives we mail you are yours to keep. You may reprint any frame, at any size, at any time. You may share the scans with family and friends, post them on your personal social accounts, and keep your own backups.
Studio Sando LLC keeps the copyright in the photographs. The permission above is for personal use. Using the photographs to advertise a business, selling them, putting them on products you sell, or offering them as stock needs our written permission. Email us if you want that, and we will put any agreement in writing.
We may show photographs from your session on this website, on our social accounts, and in our portfolio, including photographs that show you. If you do not want that, email hello@pawsonfilm.com before the session or whenever you decide later. We will not post new photographs from the session, and we will take down ones we have already posted.
Pets and liability
Sessions happen outside. The ground is uneven, other dogs may be nearby, and the weather changes. You know your pet. Please keep them out of situations they cannot handle.
You are responsible for injury or damage your pet causes during the session, except to the extent our gross negligence or willful misconduct caused it.
We are photographers. We do not provide veterinary care, training, or boarding, and nothing on the site is that kind of advice.
When a session fails because the film does not come back, the remedy is the reshoot or refund described above. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including lost profits, beyond the fees you paid us for that session.
Nothing in these terms limits a liability that California law does not allow us to limit, including liability for gross negligence, willful misconduct, or fraud.
Using the site
The site describes the sessions and lets you book. The package builder adds up a possible total so you can see it. The amount collected at booking is The Roll. Add-ons are invoiced on their own, even when the builder included them in the total.
Open times on the calendar come from Cal.com and can change until a booking is confirmed. Looking at the calendar does not reserve a date.
We may update the site, our prices, and these terms. The version posted when you book applies to that session. A later version applies to later bookings. If the law requires a change sooner, it applies when the law says it does.
Disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
If something goes wrong, email us first at hello@pawsonfilm.com. We would rather fix a session than argue about it. If we still cannot resolve it, either of us may bring a claim in the state or federal courts located in Orange County, California, and we both agree to that venue.
